Two Obion County students are among the 658 members of Lipscomb University’s largest-ever freshman class, making 2008 the fourth consecutive year of freshman enrollment increases.
The students in the class include Rachel Roberson of Hornbeak, an Obion County Central High School graduate who is majoring in pre-nursing; and Clay Smith of Troy, an OCCHS graduate who is majoring in law, justice and society.
Lipscomb University, located in Nashville, broke the 3,000 enrollment mark for the first time in its 117-year history this fall. The university’s official fall enrollment of 3,054 marks an 11.3 percent increase from last year.

Melissa Simpson of Kenton has been named to the Dean’s List at West Tennessee Business College in Jackson.
Students named to the Dean’s List maintained a 95 or above average for the past enrollment period ending Sept. 11.
