County meetings set

The Obion County Budget Committee will meet 9:15 a.m. Monday in the basement conference room at the Obion County Courthouse. This will follow the 9 a.m. meeting of the Obion County Planning Commission, in the same location.
At that session, there will be an election of officers, the approval of amendments to the Planning Commission by-laws and the approval of and recommendation to the Obion County Legislative Body of a flood damage prevention resolution.
At the Budget Committee meeting, items will include the approval of minutes from the Budget Committee meeting Sept. 3, a resolution fixing the tax levy in the county, a resolution to adopt the flood damage prevention resolution to maintain eligibility in the National Flood Insurance program, a presentation by Circuit Court Clerk Harry Johnson, a resolution pledging support and cooperation of the government of Obion County to the Obion County Development Corporation, information about a right-of-way easement regarding Ridgemont Elementary School, a presentation by the Regional Health Department concerning grant funds, information and discussion of waste tire disposal and consideration of notary public applications.
Board and committees to be considered for the November term include Everett-Stewart Regional Airport Board (now serving, Dr. Chris Gooch and David James), Civil Service Board (now serving, Ann McGuire) and Fair Association Board (now serving, Mayor Benny McGuire).
All members are urged to attend, a spokesman said.
