BROWNSVILLE, TN (September 18, 2008): Country music star Mickey Utley has long been a favorite of festival goers at the Hatchie Fall Fest in Brownsville, Tenn., and for good reason, Utley is a hometown boy.

Utley will be featured in a free concert Saturday, October 18, beginning at 6 p.m., on the historic court square in Brownsville. He joins other local and regional favorites who will take the main stage throughout the daylong event.

Also happening during Utley’s performance is the giveaway of a 36-inch flat screen HDTV courtesy of Donnie Hatcher Autoplex. Festivalgoers can register throughout the day at the Hatcher booth adjacent to the main stage and must be present to win.

Growing up in Nutbush, the same rural Haywood County community as rock diva Tina Turner, Utley was influenced early by music legends such as Turner, Elvis, George Jones and Merle Haggard. The influences of these different styles are evident in his music and in his appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Utley’s newest album release “Waiting on the Good Life” features 11 original songs including the controversial redneck anthem called “Putsumstankonit,” which is quickly climbing the charts. Utley has also performed with such greats as the Oak Ridge Boys, Jerry Lee Lewis, Marty Stuart and more.

Also joining Utley are well-known West Tennessee performers such as Kickin’, Blair Simpson, Christ Church Praise Band, Bailie McRae, David Smith “The Singing Firefighter,” Tiffany Perry, Sandy Bishop and the Woodlawn Youth Performers. The award-winning Haywood High School Show Choir will kick-off the main stage activities with performances starting at 10 a.m.

The annual event draws crowds of over 5,000 who enjoy a day filled with live music, arts and crafts and fun activities for all ages, including a 40-foot rock climbing wall.
