Thomas “Tom” Hunter, 63, of Hickman, Ky., died 4:15 a.m. Sept. 15, 2008.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Strong Funeral Home in Hickman, with the Rev. Charles Southerland officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tim Langford, Walt Goodman, Kenny Mathis, Garland Williams, Justin Mathis, Bill Baxter, Johnny Willett and Corey Busby. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Moore, Clifton Darnell and Randy Roberson.

Friends may call at the funeral home 6-8 this evening and on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the hour of services.

He was born Aug. 6, 1945, in East St. Louis, Ill., son of the late James and Sarah (Echambra) Hunter. He was a retired employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of David’s Chapel Baptist Church near Hickman and a member of the Masonic lodge.

Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Isbell and Ramona Moore, both of Union City; five brothers, Sammy Hunter of Hickman, Lloyd Hunter of Troy, Ricky Hunter of Dover, Ark., James Lewis Hunter of Wingo, Ky., and Freddie Hunter of Union City; four sisters, Jeanette Cartwright of Hickman, Mary Jane Fowler of Tigrett, Charlotte Willett of Union City and Mildred Higgins of Dover, Ark.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin Hunter and A.J. Hunter; and three sisters, Margie Hunter, Louise Walker and Ruby Bradshaw.
