The Messenger. 09.08.08 Mable Wiley, 96, of Union City died 4:51 p.m. Sept. 4, 2008, at Union City Manor Nursing Home. Services were 2 p.m. Sunday at Strong Funeral Home in Hickman, Ky., with the Revs. Jamie Lee and Jason Sipes officiating. Burial followed in Brownsville (Ky.) Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sean Wiley, Michael Wiley, David Wiley, Greg Wiley, Brad Wiley, Jeremy Wiley, Mike VanHoucke and David Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was born Jan. 30, 1912, in Hickman, daughter of the late Ed and Ida Blanton. She was the widow of Charles Wiley and was a member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church near Hickman. Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Wiley of Westland, Mich., and Charles Wiley of Hickman; her daughter, Peggy Thomas of Union City; and eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Chester Blanton, Lester Blanton, Hubert Blanton, E.E. “Buck” James and Clennie Blanton; and her sister, Annola Council.
