Minnie Catherine Skaggs Stroube, 83, of Nashville, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, Services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton’s Dignity Hall in Nashville. Entombment was at Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum. Mrs. Stroube was the daughter of the late Alvah Lee and Elizabeth Teague Skaggs. She was the widow of Robert H. Stroube Sr. She received a bachelor of science degree in home economics in 1947 from Western Kentucky State Teachers College and taught home economics at several high schools. She was a member of Woodmont Christian Church and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the MNEA, TEA, NEA, and Retired Home Economics Teachers Association and was a volunteer for Second Harvest Food Bank. Survivors include two daughters, Cathy (Al) Maynord of Donelson and Martha (Linville) Freeman of Martin; a son, Robert (Debbie) Stroube of Hendersonville; 10 grandchildren, Becky (John) Reeder, Derek Belcher, John (Amanda) Freeman, Leigh Hill, Adam (Marissa) Stroube, Sam Freeman, Kyle Stroube, Brett Stroube, Chance Maynord and Alys Maynord; and a great-grandson, Samuel Stroube Reeder. The family requests memorials be made to Second Harvest Food Bank or Habitat for Humanity. wcp 8-28-08
