The Messenger. 09.03.08 The Messenger has learned of the death of Mary Valentine (Tidwell) Outlaw, 68, of South Carolina, who died Aug. 14, 2008, in South Carolina. She was a former resident of this area and has several relatives here. Services were Aug. 16 at Hilltop Community Church in South Carolina, with Caughman-Harman Funeral Home in Lexington, S.C., in charge of arrangements. She was born Feb. 13, 1940, in Union City, daughter of the late William and Thressie Tidwell. She was married to James Outlaw, who survives. She had lived in Obion County for 25 years. Survivors also include her son, Jonathan Outlaw of South Carolina; her daughter, Debra Outlaw of South Carolina; three brothers, Jesse Tidwell of Troy, Bobbie Rae of Trenton and Roy Tidwell of Arkansas; nine sisters, Kitty Baggett and Jeanie Parish, both of Troy, Peggy Ferguson of Dukedom, Mavis Titus and Geneva Swaggert, both of South Carolina, Patricia Wilson of Indiana, Doris Henderson of Ridgely, Emma Jo Hardin of South Fulton and Mozelle Liliker of Cayce, Ky.; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Tidwell of Mississippi and Ruth Ann Rae of Humboldt; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, James Tidwell, Loring Tidwell, John Tidwell and Charles Rae; and three sisters, Pearl Clark, Louise Bondurant and Marie Tidwell.
