The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Brittany Thompson of Union City and Brian Kissell of Troy are being announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of Buddy and Tena Thompson of Union City. Her grandparents are Bobby and Peggy James and Wesley and Joyce Thompson, all of Union City. She is a 2004 graduate of Union City High School. She graduated magna cum laude in 2008 from the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she received a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She is a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She is employed as a staff accountant for Alexander Thompson Arnold PLLC in Union City. The groom-elect is the son of Van and Norma Kissell of Troy. He is the grandson of Karl Warren and the late Joyce Warren of Martin and Virginia Kissell and the late E.B. Kissell of Bartlett. He is a 2004 graduate of Obion County Central High School. He graduated magna cum laude in 2008 from UTM, where he received his bachelor of science degree in business administration. While at UTM, he was a member of the Skyhawk football team. He is employed as a credit analyst for First State Bank in Jackson. The couple will exchange vows at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at Troy First Baptist Church. Music will begin at 6 p.m. A reception will be held at the home of Dr. Matt and Christine Harris, located at 816 Peterson St., Rives. All family and friends are invited to attend.
