SENIOR OLYMPICS — Twelve Obion County senior citizens competed in the Tennessee Senior Olympics on the state level in Franklin. Eight medals were brought back by the group, including a first place by Bobby Chappell and Earl Bell in bowling doubles, second-place awards by Bell and Diane Bell in bowling mixed doubles and Maggie Vaughan and Janice Faulk in tennis and a third-place award by Anna Burkeen and Ron Bates in bowling mixed doubles. Among those attending who gathered for a group picture were (front, from left) Ms. Burkeen, Chappell, Marilyn Hill, (back) Beverly Bates, Ron Bates, Sharon Calhoun, Margaret Cook, Jerry Calhoun, Faye Chappell, Dianne Bell and Earl Bell.
