The Messenger. 07.30.08 Completed arrangements for Vickie Lynn (Howard) Hamilton Thompson, 55, of Troy, who died July 26, 2008, at the home of her sister in Tampa, Fla., are being announced today. Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Rives. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Russell Thompson, David Thompson, Randy Stewart, Allen Cartmell, Lloyd Cartmell, Dale Sanders, Patrick Johnson and Ian Riley. She was born Oct. 19, 1952, in Tipton County, daughter of the late Fred and Sophia (Baskins) Howard. She married Gary Thompson April 16, 1999. He survives. She was a training specialist with the Northwest Tennessee Correctional Facility in Tiptonville and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church No. 2. She is also survived by her daughter, Angela Kelly of South Fulton; her son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Karen Hamilton of Troy; two stepsons and the spouse of one, Michael Thompson and Chris and Ashley Thompson, all of Union City; two stepdaughters and the spouse of one, Michelle and Randy Stewart of Harrisville, Miss., and Shannon Cox of Union City; three sisters, Yvonne Orcutt of Tampa, Fla., and Eunice Rose and Georgia Dixon, both of Memphis; three brothers, Herman Howard of Texas and Danny Howard and Thurston Howard, both of Covington; five grandchildren, Hayden Kelly and Rylen Kelly, both of South Fulton, Ean Riley of Union City and Madilyn Hamilton and Drake Hamilton, both of Troy; and six stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Hamilton; her brother, J.J. Howard; and her stepgrandson, Justin Thompson.
