Labor Day Music Festival Promises to Rock Riverfront Park

NASHVILLE, MUSIC CITY – Music City’s Labor Day weekend just got hotter. Multi-platinum recording artist and guitar legend Peter Frampton will headline the 2008 Music City J.A.M. (Jazz and More) festival on Sunday, Aug. 31 in Nashville’s Riverfront Park. Jazz great Kirk Whalum will once again host the festival and American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle will add her exciting performance to this event. The event line-up and schedule are as follows*: Sunday, August 31 Gates Open 1:30 p.m. Live Music from: 2 – 10 p.m. Temple Church Choir Laurie Wheeler Music City Connection Jazz Group Kirk Whalum Melinda Doolittle Peter Frampton *Artists and times subject to change The Music City Connection Jazz Group is an exceptional trio of Nashville’s spectacular female jazz vocalists who will provide some stunning vocal excitement at this festival. Children under 6-years-old do not need a ticket to enter the Riverfront Park venue. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Museum of African American Music, Art & Culture, and Music City, Inc. Patrons may not enter the venue with alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, coolers, fireworks, pets (except service animals), backpacks, food, beverages, weapons or dangerous devices of any type.
