The Messenger. 07.29.08 Linda Carol (Hicks) Cranfield, 63, of Ringgold, Ga., mother of Tracie Little of Kenton, died July 25, 2008, in Georgia. A memorial service was held 8 p.m. Sunday at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens, with the Rev. Jimmy Jackson officiating. The family requests that memorials be made to Carol Cranfield Memorial Account, in care of Regions Bank, 2083 U.S. Highway 45 Bypass South, Trenton, TN 38382. She was born in Roane County, daughter of the late James Martin and Mabel (Tate) Hicks and had lived in Ringgold the past two years. She was also a former resident of Trenton, where she was a member of Berea Baptist Church. She had been employed at Bailey’s Bar-B-Que in Ringgold. Survivors also include another daughter and two sons-in-law, Treva and Greg Maitland of Trenton and Jason Little of Kenton; five brothers, Mitchell Hicks of Marion, Ky., Bill Hicks of Clinton, Charles Hicks of Tulsa, Okla., Leon Hicks of Seymour and Farrell Hicks of Gruetli Laager; two sisters, Brenda Patterson of Ringgold and Geneva Logan of Etowah; several nieces and nephews; and four grandchildren, Syler Maitland and Sydney Maitland, both of Trenton, and Remington Little and Kaitlyn Little, both of Kenton.
