Monsanto and its Delta and Pine Land business will host a Technology Field Showcase Day at its Union City site Aug. 7 at 7 a.m. Three areas of innovations for farmers will be highighted. They include new technology and genetics, new agronomic practices and future Monsanto developments. “The day will bring our pipeline to nearly 800 growers in the area and focus specifically on traits and technology that will be beneficial to the local farmer,” a spokesman said, adding “Monsanto and its D&PL business are researching and developing new agricultural traits and crop varieties that provide significant benefits to farmers, as well as processors and consumers.” The event will demonstrate the current and future genetics, technologies and traits being developed or which are prepared to be launched. It is the goal of the event to demonstrate the significant investment being made in agriculture in Tennessee. “All in all, this is an opportunity to demonstrate to our customers some of the technologies that will contribute to the success of farming in Tennessee,” a spokesman said.
