Well-known local caterer Sandy Fuzzell Edmundson has opened Another Thyme Café and Catering at 316 North First St. in downtown Union City.
The new venture is located in the former Pierce’s Market building, which has undergone renovation to include a beautifully-decorated dining area that can seat 60 guests.
The dining area — which has an open section with several tables at the front and a small private room toward the back — features tables draped in neat white cloths and adorned with fresh flower arrangements. The walls are decked with soft lights and framed artwork throughout.
“You will be excited to know that we can seat 60 guests at our new location and we look forward to helping you plan your event in our newly-remodeled building — you will love it — or in another place of your choosing,” Mrs. Edmundson said.
The café offers lunch Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from a menu that includes a variety of reasonably-priced salads, sandwiches, soups, quiches, fresh fruits and muffins.
Also offered are daily specials featuring various meats and vegetables — among them Mrs. Edmundson’s homemade chicken and dressing — and daily dessert specials.
Mrs. Edmundson also specializes in cakes and pies, which can be delivered to customers, and the café is home to “the original Sunshine Chicken Salad.”
“You can place an order today,” she said. “Whether you are a drug company rep wanting a meal delivered to an office or you just want to come to the café for a business function, call us for reservations,” she said.
Catering is available daily and on weekends by calling Mrs. Edmundson at 885-0164. She caters large or small functions, including meetings, church gatherings, parties, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners and reunions.
She said her new café and catering business has “the same great staff,” which is anxious to serve her customers’ needs, and she said they have many new recipes and ideas to help make any event a success.
“No party is too big or too small,” she said. “We will help you plan a great menu for a wonderful party.”
