The Messenger. 07.24.08 A pickup truck has been reported stolen from West Tennessee Motors at 2919 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City. The incident was reported about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, when business owner Henry Flowers told police someone had test driven a vehicle and not returned it, according to a Union City Police Department report. Flowers told police a white male drove onto the lot in a gray 1992 Chevy Silverado about 9 a.m. and asked to test drive a red 2003 GMC Sonoma. He said he requested the man take a test drive from the lot out to the airport and back, but the man asked if he could take the truck to show his wife, who reportedly was at a Union City residence. No information was available about the man or the residence and Flowers described the man as being about 5-feet-10-inches tall and of slender build with short brown hair, according to the report. The vehicle taken is described as a step-side, low-rider model that had dealer tags. Police ran a check on the Chevy Silverado the man left at the lot when he test drove the GMC Sonoma. The Chevy Silverado was listed as being stolen from Dyersburg and police there told Union City police that it had been stolen Monday from the Lowe’s store in Dyersburg.
