7-24 Hello to all of my readers! I hope you are each enjoying the wonderful summer weather! With all the vacations that are always much needed, remember to pray that God will provide traveling mercies on all of our friends and neighbors during this warmer season. If you are trying to get information to me regarding the Sharon Notables, there are several ways to do it. First, you can email the info to me; second, you can call me with the information; third, you may drop your information off at City Hall; and finally, you can drop it off with anyone at the First State Bank. The City Hall and First State Bank will notify me of information that has been dropped off for me. I do not want to miss out on information that you want to share, so perhaps knowing how to get it to me, or where to drop off your information, will benefit all of the community! The Sharon Corn and Music Festival is hard at work with the planning and implementing of all the activities planned. There is something for every day during the week of September 14-20. Be sure you check out our web site at www.sharoncamfest.myevent.com and drop us a message on our message board! If you are a vendor and would like to have a booth this year, they will be located behind First State Bank, which is right in the middle of the activities! I am sure that you will definitely have a lot of customers, so contact me if you are interested in having a booth. The electric booths are $20 and the non-electric ones will be $15. You will also be allowed to set up on Friday night if you wish and there is no additional charge for the extra night! Just call or email me and I will gladly fill you in on the details. My son, Taylor Jobe has had a busy summer with Boy Scouts. First he attended Boy Scout camp with 17 members of Troop 40. While at camp he earned four merit badges and got a partial on No. 5. They are Environmental Science (Eagle Required); Reptile & Amphibian Study; Indian Lore; Woodcarving; and Swimming. However Taylor really shined this past week at Webelos Resident Camp. He was a youth staff member. While there he helped Tony Woodrough teach the Geologist Activity Pin. He also served in many other areas, handicrafts, waterfront and clean up. According to Mr. David Hicks, District Executive for Central District, “Taylor was a joy and inspiration to the younger boys. It was a job well done.” I am very proud of him for taking on a responsibility that is usually designated for much older scouts! The Sharon Library Teen Reading Contest will have a drawing for the winner of an MP 4 player on July 30 at 4. Refreshments will be served. Don’t forget that the Book Buzz meets today, July 24, at 1:30 in the library. The library is also still offering the shredding service at the library too. For any questions about the library you can call 456-2707. I missed wishing two couples a happy anniversary! Jim and Kathy Krejcir on July 13, and Steve and Susan Chappell on July 19, so happy belated anniversary to all of you! Carrie (Magness) Harris will celebrate her birthday on July 24; my son, William Burdette will celebrate his birthday on July 25 and Angie and Donald Brewer will also celebrate an anniversary on July 25! Aiden Chandler celebrates his birthday on July 26 and Kimberly Malone has her birthday on July 28. Betty and Charles Wright will celebrate 60 years of marriage on July 30! Happy birthday and anniversary to all of you from the Sharon community! Want to see your loved ones on my list? Email or call me with your information, too! Well, for today, that is all the news that is news from the Sharon community. Remember to continue to pray for our military, your neighbors, and that God will have mercy on our land! May God bless you all!
