Event offers information on breastfeeding

wcp 7-24 The West Tennessee Breastfeeding Task Force and the Breastfeeding Support Fund Committee are offering the community an educational fair and a luncheon. The event honoring World Breastfeeding Awareness Week will be held Aug. 2. The luncheon will start at 11 a.m. and the fair will be from 12:30-3 p.m. in the J. Walter Barnes Conference Center at 617 Forest Ave. in Jackson. The event will benefit the breastfeeding support fund at the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation. Dr. Karen Codjoe, the director of Maternal /Child Health at the West Tennessee Regional Health Office, will be the keynote speaker. Certified lactation consultants and certified lactations counselors will be available for questions and answers. Educational and support booths will include information on breast pumps, nursing bras, nutrition and much more.
