The Messenger. 07.23.08 Soldiers of the Tennessee Army National Guard’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 30th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion in Humboldt, are scheduled to depart Aug. 3 for deployment to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The approximately 80 Guardsmen from the Gibson County unit will first travel to Fort Dix, N.J., where they will remain for a short, unspecified period of time. They are scheduled to depart the Humboldt armory at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 3. The armory is located at 15 Hadley Drive. National Guard officials advise families wishing to see off their soldiers to be at the armory one hour prior to the departure. Since Sept. 11, 2001, the Tennessee National Guard has deployed more than 12,800 soldiers and airmen.
