Marilyn Crist, MSSW, LCSW, of Martin recently received the 2008 National Association of Social Workers-Tennessee Lifetime Achievement Award. Crist was recognized and honored for her long and accomplished professional history. Crist is a Licensed Clinical Outpatient Therapist for Baptist Behavioral Health Care-Union City. She received her graduate education at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. Since 1994, Crist has been counseling a variety of outpatients, ages six and above, in individual, couple, family, and/or group sessions. She has experience counseling those with problems/disorders such as depression, bi-polar disorder, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance related disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, gay/lesbian issues, grief issues, domestic violence, relationship issues and sex abuse. The Tennessee Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), with over 1,850 members, is the major professional social work organization in the state. NASW is committed to advancing professional social work practice and the profession; and to promoting sound social policies.
