John A. Ridgway

The Messenger. 07.23.08 Completed arrangements are being announced for John A. Ridgway, 60, of Harrodsburg, Ky., a former resident of Graves County, Ky., who died July 21, 2008, at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center in Lexington. He has relatives in the Wingo, Ky., area. Graveside services are planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Good Springs Cemetery in Dukedom. There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton is in charge of arrangements. He was born March 21, 1948, in Graves County, son of the late Dalton Thomas and Mary Ezma (Thacker) Ridgway. He married the former Patricia Maxie April 4, 1983. She survives. He had retired as a UPS truck driver after 341/2 years of service and had made his home in Mercer County, Ky., for the past 29 years. Survivors also include two daughters, Deborah Moore of Salem, Ore., and Michelle McDowell of Philpot, Ky.; four sons, John A. Ridgway Jr. of Lexington, James C. Ridgway of Harrodsburg and Jeremy T. Hagen and Jeffrey A. Hagen, both of Crothersville, Ind.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Goldey and JoAnn Dillon, both of Shelbyville, Ky.; and two brothers, James C. Ridgway of McDowell, Ky., and William Edward Ridgway of Harrodsburg. He was also preceded in death by his sister and three brothers. Online tributes may be left at www.hornbeakfuneralchapel.com.
