Artresha Shavonda Goss, 29, of 310 Greenwood St., Union City, was issued citations charging her with harboring a vicious animal and violation of leash law following an incident Friday afternoon, according to a Union City Police Department report. Police investigator Derrick O’Dell reported he was serving a search warrant at a home in the 300 block of Greenwood Street about 2:55 p.m. Friday and was searching the backyard when he observed a black and white pit bull charging at him. The dog was barking and growling as it ran toward the investigator, according to the report. O’Dell reported he used his service weapon in defense against the attack. He fired one round, which struck the ground behind the dog and caused the animal to run away from him. The dog ran back into the yard at 310 Greenwood St., identified as Ms. Goss’ residence. The dog was identified as belonging to Ms. Goss, resulting in her being issued the two citations, police reported.
