Miss Porter, McBride to wed

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Kimberly Dawn “Kim” Porter of Hickman, Ky., and Billy Joe “B.J.” McBride of Union City is being announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of Lula Porter and the late Wayne Porter of Hickman. She is the granddaughter of the late Willard and Katherine Porter and the late LeRoy and Stella Hamil, all of Hickman. She is a 2002 graduate of Fulton County High School. She graduated in 2003, with honors, from Draughon’s Junior College. She is employed as a customer service representative for Williams Sausage. The groom-elect is the son of David and Tammy Ursery of Union City and Ronnie and Judy McBride of Rives. His grandparents are Kenneth and Patsy Brown and the late Joe Mansfield, all of Union City, and Bill and Francis McBride of Rives. He is a 2003 graduate of Obion County Central High School and is employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Union City. He is also a member of the Tennessee Army National Guard. The couple will exchange vows Aug. 23 at Mount Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Troy. Music will begin at 5:30 p.m. A reception will be held at the Tennessee National Guard Armory following the ceremony. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
