The Messenger. 07.21.08 Jimmie E. Bivens, 69, of Wingo, Ky., died 4:30 a.m. July 20, 2008, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pilot Oak Baptist Church in Kentucky, with the Revs. Charles Simmons and Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton from 5-8 this evening and from 8 a.m. on Tuesday until time to leave for the church. He was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Graves County, Ky., son of the late Rutherford Preston “R.P.” and Lela Irene (Crittendon) Bivens. He was married to the former Donna Cruse, who survives, and was a longtime farmer and business owner. He was a member of Pilot Oak Baptist Church and had lived in this area all his life. Survivors also include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kent E. and Jennifer Bivens of Dukedom and Phil and Tracey Bivens of South Fulton; six grandchildren, Jamie Bivens, Erin Bivens, Katie Bivens, Abbi Bivens, Jayd Bivens and Aalia Bivens; three step-grandchildren, Kristin Morgan, Amber Paitsel and Morgan Paitsel; and three sisters, Anna Cooper of Lynn Grove, Ky., June Coltharp of Vienna, Ill., and Bobbie Mae Williams of Sedalia, Ky.
