DUBLIN, Ohio— (July 15, 2008) The 25th annual DAC Sundays @ Scioto Concert Series concludes Sun., July 27 with the ever-popular British Invasion, on stage from 7 to 8:30pm at the amphitheatre in scenic Scioto Park, 7377 Riverside Dr., in Dublin, just north of the Dublin Arts Center. Dublin Arts Council Executive Director David Guion encourages guests to bring lawn chairs or blankets, pack picnic baskets and plan to enjoy a wonderful evening of music. Ice cream will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting Dublin Arts Council. The DAC Sundays at Scioto concerts offer a wonderful opportunity to people-watch, to lounge on the sloping grass overlooking the river and to enjoy everything from Brazilian Axé to rust bucket rock. Guests range from couples on dates to young families and senior citizens. Everyone is invited to enjoy the sights and sounds of the evening. DAC ends the 25th anniversary series with a one-night magical mystery tour as the ever-popular British Invasion take the stage on July 27. If you didn’t see the real thing, this is your next best bet. Hits from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Herman’s Hermits and more are performed with authenticity, from costume changes to vintage guitars and equipment. Car enthusiasts will want to mark this night on their calendar, as fans bring a vintage car show along for the ride. Dublin Arts Council’s history is closely tied to music and the park. In 1983, an ad-hoc committee brought the Columbus Symphony Orchestra to the dedication of Scioto Park. The success of this activity encouraged the committee to form Dublin Arts Council. Scioto Park is also home to Leatherlips, the first Art in Public Places project of Dublin Arts Council. The 12-foot high native limestone sculpture of the Wyandot Indian Chief has overlooked the park’s amphitheatre since 1990. The 25th annual DAC Sundays at Scioto summer concert series is provided as a free gift to the community through the support of our sponsors, Time Warner Cable, Sheehan Hutchison Keenan, your Grange Insurance agent, Cardinal Health, Fifth-Third Bank, Porter, Wright, Morris and Arthur, LLP, The CW on WWHO-TV and WCBE Radio.
