Williams seeking post on OC School Board
Susan Williams has announced that she is seeking election to the Obion County School Board in District 7. Born in Union City, Mrs. Williams has lived in Obion County all her life and was educated in the Obion County School System. She is the daughter of William Vinson and the late Susan Vinson of Union City and has been married to Shane Williams for 10 years. They have a daughter, Hannah, who is 5 years old. Mrs. Williams recieved her bachelor of science degree in social work from the University of Tennesee at Martin in 1985. She was employed at the Obion County Nursing Home shortly after her graduation from college and worked there for 19 years as the social service and activity director. In 2004 she resigned her position with the nursing home to be a stay-at-home mom to Hannah, whom she and her husband adopted from the People’s Republic of China in August 2004. In 2006, she returned to the work-force with Reelfoot Bank in Union City, where she is employed as collections manager. Mrs. Williams attends Lake Road Baptist Church in Union City with her family, where they are all involved with church activities. Both of Mrs. Williams’ parents were teachers in the county school system and her daughter will enter the county school system this fall. “I am a life-long resident of Obion County and this district. If elected, I would consider it an honor and a privilege to serve my community on the Obion County School Board and will appreciate you vote and support,” Mrs. Williams said.
