Robersons celebrate 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Edward G. Roberson of Hornbeak recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner held at Boyette’s Dining Room at Reelfoot Lake. He married the former Betty Sue Wheatley July 5, 1958, in Union City. She the daughter of the late Price and Donnie Wheatley of Samburg. She is a homemaker and a retired paper carrier. He is the son of the late Leggel and Elsie Roberson of Troy. He is retired from the U.S. Army. Attending the special family celebration were their five children and the spouses of three, Tim Roberson and Guy and Cathy Roberson, all of Troy, Velma and David Tate and Bobby Joe and Leanda Roberson, all of Hornbeak, and Jennifer Roberson of Tiptonville. Among their 12 grandchildren and the spouses of two attending were Doug and Molly Baker of Obion, Jada and Robert Owens, Zack Roberson, Larry Wayne Roberson, Kayla Baker, Matthew Roberson and Laina Roberson, all of Troy; Billy Joe Roberson of Union City; Kimberly Tate of Tiptonville and Katie Roberson of Hornbeak. Theree of their seven great-grandchildren — Laurel Baker, Katelynn Tate and Bayleigh Baker — were also present. Published in The Messenger 7.17.08
