The Messenger. 07.16.08 Completed arrangements are being announced for Harry Hill Burgess, 84, of Union City. He died July 12, 2008, at Hospice House of Citrus County in Lecanto, Fla. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with burial following in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, with full military honors. Friends may call at White-Ranson Funeral Home from noon-1 p.m. Friday. He was born April 3, 1924, in Troy, son of the late James W. and Annie (Cleek) Burgess. He was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, retiring Dec. 1, 1968, after 24 years of service. He had also retired from 20 years of service with the Millington Telephone Co. He was a Mason. Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Haschel of Inverness, Fla.; two granddaughters, Leslie Weidenhammer of Naples, Fla., and Michelle Tansy of Martinsville, Ind.; his grandson, Danny Haschel of Indianapolis; two great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Marcia Cunningham Roney of Union City and Hazel Smith of Memphis; his brother, Bill Burgess of Milan; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Jana Lear, Sue Olhausen and Faye Russell; and two brothers, Clyde W. Burgess and Teddy Joe Burgess.
