Posted: Tuesday, July 15, 2008 1:58 pm The Messenger. 07.14.08 Completed arrangements for Paul Michael Butts, 58, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., formerly of Fulton, who died July 10, 2008, in Gulf Breeze after a long illness, are being announced today. Services were to be held at 11 a.m. today at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with Dr. Jack Acree officiating and Steve Green providing the eulogy. Burial was to follow in Greenlea Cemetery in Fulton. The family requests memorials be made to Fulton-South Fulton Relay for Life or Fulton City Booster Club. He was born Sept. 5, 1949, in Fulton, son of Wendal and Louise Butts of Fulton. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1967. After attending Murray State University, her joined his father and grandfather, the late Paul Butts, at A.C. Butts and Sons, the family business which had been founded by his great-grandfather, the late A.C. Butts. While in Fulton, he was active in the community as a Little League coach and a Fulton City Booster Club member. He was elected to the Fulton City Commission, where he served as mayor pro-tem. After moving to Florida, he owned Insurance Marketing Inc., an insurance brokerage firm. He is also survived by his wife, Florence Butts of Gulf Breeze; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Todd and Kelly Butts of Paducah, Ky., and Robert Wendal and Emily Butts and Arthur Paul and Sabrina Butts, all of Nashville; his stepson, Michael Moulton of Gulf Breeze; four grandchildren, Margaret Westpheling Butts and Jackson Michael Butts, both of Paducah, and Paul Westpheling Butts and Bo Chamberlain Butts, both of Nashville; his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Cubb Stokes of Fulton; his niece, Natalie Reese Stokes of New York; and his nephew, Fredic Nicholas Stokes of Washington, D.C.
