Summit is slated Kingdom Summit 2008, with a theme “Times of Refreshing” based on Acts 3:19 will begin July 17 at 7 p.m. and continue nightly through July 19. The summit is being presented by Anointed Ministries, with Bishop Vernon Bess as host pastor. The church is located at 115 Ford St. in Union City and offers “relevant leadership in changing times and impartation service that will change your life forever.” These will be services of healing, miracles, deliverance and divine impartation, headed by dynamic spirit-filled speakers each evening. On July 17, Dr. Ron Webb of Poplar Bluff, Mo., will be in charge of the service. Other speakers will include District Elder Terence Coleman on July 18 and District Elder Larry Baylor at both the 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. services July 19. The public is invited to attend these special services. Schedule changed Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 203 North First St. in Union City will have a change of schedule this Sunday. The congregation will gather around God’s Word for worship, Bible study and Sunday school at 10:45 a.m. All are invited to join them. Women’s conference set Bells Chapel C.M.E. Church at 207 North Highland Drive in Fulton will host the annual women’s conference Saturday at noon. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Denise Golightly of Thomas Chapel C.M.E. Church in Hickman, Ky. All women are invited to “come as you are,” says the pastor, the Rev. Eric McKinney Sr. Fellowship luncheon set United Church of the Living God at 609 Martin Luther King Drive in Fulton will host the second annual fellowship luncheon honoring the Rev. Margaret Pettigrew Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. There is no fee, but gifts of love will be appreciated, a spokesman said. For more information, contact Elder Betty Gordon at (270) 472-0554. Decoration Day slated Mount Pleasant Cemetery Decoration Day will be July 19 and will feature a potluck meal at noon. Those attending are reminded to bring lunch and lawn chairs. The cemetery is located in Graves County, Ky., on Mount Pleasant Church Road about two miles north of Pilot Oak, just off Highway 129. Donations to help with the upkeep of the cemetery will be welcome and may be given to a committee trustee or mailed to Mount Pleasant Cemetery Fund, in care of Laura Davis at 9584 Fields Road, South Fulton, TN 38257. Trustees are Laura Davis, Darrell Fuqua, Gene Murphey, Gayle Russell and Charles Shelby. Family and Friend Day set Hwy. 45 Church of Christ will celebrate Family and Friend Day July 20. Demeprius Nelson of Sand Hill Church of Christ in LaVergne will be the guest speaker for the 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. services. Dinner will be served following morning services. Thomas Todd is the minister and R.C. Nunley is the assistant minister. Brundages to minister Samburg Assembly of God at 253 North Reelfoot Ave. in Samburg and the Rev. George Hutchison and his wife will be welcoming Hardy and Marianne Brundage Wednesday at 7 p.m. For more than five years, Hardy was general manager of the Jimmy Swaggert Radio Ministry. Following that, the Brundages traveled for 10 years with the Dixie Gospel Caravan. Now doing personal ministry, the Brundages, who are from Houston, have ministered in the Word and song in churches all across the United States. Mrs. Brundage’s personal testimony of God’s healing power from terminal cancer has blessed and encouraged many and Hardy’s ministry in the Word will be a blessing to all, a spokesman said. “Come and be with us for a wonderful time of refreshing in the presence of the Lord,” Hutchison said. VBS to begin Bishop Street Church of Christ, located on the corner of Bishop and Russell Streets in Union City, will begin Vacation Bible School classes Sunday and continue through Wednesday from 6:30-8 each evening. The theme will be Stewardship and there will be classes with Bible study, crafts, games and refreshments for those from cradle role through adults. Heroes of Faith to begin Reelfoot Baptist Church near Union City on Highway 22 will host Vacation Bible School Saturday at 8 a.m. The wrap-up will feature a children’s program at noon and parents are encouraged to attend. Bible lessons will focus on “Heroes of the Faith” including Noah, David, Jonah and Daniel. There will be fun activities with lessons, music, crafts and a cookout, plus a 15-foot slide, a balloon jumper and a dunking booth, with a special area for smaller children that will include a jumper and a ball pit. To pre-register or to secure transportation, call the church office at 885-2170 and leave a message. A VBS worker will return the call with the necessary information. Union revival planned Troy Cumberland Presbyterian Church and First United Methodist Church in Troy will host a joint revival Sunday at 6 p.m. through Wednesday, with week night services at 7. There will also be special services for children each evening. Brent Ballew will be the evangelist and the revival will be held at Troy Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Services to be taped Hornbeak Church of Christ is announcing the taping of Sunday morning sermons and the replay of these videos in their entirety on Channel 22 on the Tiptonville television cable system. The program is titled “Preaching the Truth” and is available for viewing at 10 a.m. on Mondays. The congregation is presently adding the “In Depth Bible Study,” which is a video of Wednesday night Bible studies, to the Channel 22 lineup at 10 a.m. on Fridays. Tiptonville cable covers all of Hornbeak and the western part of Obion County, including (but not limited to) Samburg. Cable is also available in Lake County and parts of northern Dyer County, including the Bogota community. Harrell Davidson is the speaker. Homecoming events set Friendship Freewill Baptist Church at 1304 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Union City will be observing the annual homecoming celebration at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Richard Blakemore. His congregation from New Obion Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton, Ky., will also be attending. The public is invited to share this special time. The Rev. Phillip E. Sanders is pastor. ‘Backyard’ event slated First Christian Church, located at 603 South Second St. in Union City, will host Vacation Bible School with a theme “God’s Big Backyard: Where Kids Have a Blast Serving Jesus!” Friday from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy the cookout that will take place for lunch. Classes for children from preschool through preteens. Gospel meeting set Berea Church of Christ, located on State Highway 216 between Rives and the Mount Pelia community, will host a gospel meeting Sunday through July 18. Sunday morning services will be at 10 and 11 a.m., with nightly services at 7. Lunch will be served on the premises following Sunday morning worship. Virgil Hale will be the speaker, with songs directed by Stanley Edwards. Richard Guill is the local minister for the congregation. The community is invited to attend. Youth revival planned True Gospel Baptist Church, located at 700 Greenwood St. in Union City, will welcome Dr. James Earls from Portsmouth, Va., for a youth revival Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Song leader will be Robert Taylor Jr. The theme will be “…Pressing Toward the Mark.” There will be a free gift package for each visitor and transportation for those who call 885-0953 or 885-4991. The Rev. Jerry King is pastor. A nursery will be provided. Homecoming service slated Bashan Baptist Church in Rives will celebrate homecoming Sunday. Assistant pastor Paul Jenkins will speak at the 11 a.m. service and a dinner will be served following. At 3 p.m., H.T. Connor of Fuller Street Baptist Church in Dresden will be the speaker and his congregation will be special guests. There will also be special music from Spirit of Zion and Voices of Zion. The Rev. Rozelle Dotstry is the pastor. Praise and worship set Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, located at 417 Harrison St. in Union City, will host a praise and worship service Sunday at 3 p.m. Elder Willie L. Burnett is pastor. Revival to begin Kenton Cumberland Presbyterian Church will be in revival Sunday through Tuesday at 7 each evening. The Rev.
