The Messenger. 07.09.08 Completed arrangements are being announced for Isaac Leroy Reed, 79, of Samburg, who died July 8, 2008, at his home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with burial following in Troy at Terrace Hill Cemetery. The Rev. John Poor will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Scotty Hayes, Scotty Hayes Jr., Golden Mathis, Robert Griffin, David Bruen and James Yates. He was born Oct. 11, 1928, in Samburg, son of the late Emmett and Beulah Frances (Brown) Reed. He was married to the former Ida Lou McTurner, who survives, Jan. 1, 1950. He was a retired maintenance employee of Ford Motor Co. in Livonia, Mich., where he worked 30 years. He was a Baptist and had been a Shriner in Detroit. Survivors also include two daughters and his son-in-law, Debbie Gilbert and Jo Ann and Robert Riddle, all of Union City; three sons and his daughter-in-law, Gary Reed of Michigan, Isaac Reed Jr. and Jane Reed of Redford, Mich., and Randy Reed of Pensacola, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his sister, Inez Dial of Tiptonville. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Katherine Applewhite, Mildred Shaw and Iola Baggett. Condolences may be sent to the family at the funeral home Web site: www.white-ranson.com.
