Robert Thompson Ferrell

Robert Thompson Ferrell, 78, of Dresden, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Services were held 11 a.m. Saturday at Adams Chapel Baptist Church in Dresden, with Bro. Larry Reagan officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Sharon. Bowlin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. T. W. Farmer, Lloyd Essary, Brian Ferrell, Kurt Ferrell, Adam Ferrell and Tommy Wilson served as pallbearers. Ferrell was born in Weakley County, son of the late William E. “Bill” and Florence Maxey Ferrell and stepson of the late Nannie Abernathy Ferrell. He was retired from Quebecor World and was a member of Adams Chapel Baptist Church. He was a U S Army Veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Betty June Prince Ferrell of Dresden; one daughter, Barbara (Joe) Farmer of Dresden; two sons, David (Becky) Ferrell of Collierville and Richard (Barbara) Ferrell of Sharon; one sister, Marie Dozier of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Harold Ferrell of West Palm Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Kehoe and Ruby Nell Barker; and one brother, Carl Ferrell.
