Rev. E. Jerald Ogg Sr.

The Rev. E. Jerald Ogg Sr., of Maryville, father of UT Martin Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. E. Jerald Ogg Jr., died Monday, June 30, 2008, on his 75th birthday. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Madison First Assembly of God Church in Madison. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Spring Hill Cemetery Funeral Home in Madison and from 9-11 a.m. Friday at the church. The Rev. Ogg was born June 30, 1933, in Old Hickory, son of the late Cullom and Ethel Ogg of Madison. He was a graduate of Goodlettsville High School and Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo. An ordained minister and pastor of seven Assemblies of God churches during a ministry career that spanned more than 50 years, Rev. Ogg visited 55 countries as part of his mission efforts. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Janett N. Ogg; four children, Dr. Jerald (Jane) Ogg Jr. of Martin, Judy (Ed) Morren of Seymour, the Rev. Jeff (Barbie) Ogg of Kailua, Hawaii, and Jim (Tawana) Ogg of Spring, Texas; a sister, Jenell (Dr. Carl) Mueller of Fairfield Glade; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Anderson, Jana Ogg, Craig Morren, Brian (Brandy) Morren, Jeanna (Ronnie) Baron, Justin (Amber) Ogg, Devin Ogg and Hope Ogg; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be made to the Rev. E. Jerald Ogg Sr. Memorial Missions Fund at CATALYST Missions, P.O.
