The Messenger. 07.08.08 Clint Midyett, 92, of Wingo, Ky., died 12:50 p.m. July 7, 2008, at Obion County Nursing Home near Union City. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cuba (Ky.) Baptist Church, with the Rev. Glynn Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Cuba Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dana Ballard, Anthony Ballard, Lane Copeland, Lance Copeland, Danny Brann Jr. and Chris Finch. Honorary pallbearers will be Gail Dobson, Bill Petty, David Gilbert, Tommy Moreland, Namon Brann, Elmo Williams, Harold Copeland, Johnny Wilkins and Jr. Wilkins. Friends may call at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, Ky., this evening from 5-8 and at the church Wednesday after 10 a.m. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 26. He was a retired farmer and World War II U.S. Army veteran who was a member of Cuba Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane (Midyett) and Danny Brann Sr. of Union City and Dolores Johnson and Shelby Cox of Benton, Ky.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and his sister, Linda Hamon of South Fulton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann (Johnson) Midyett; his parents, Lon and Mamie (Davison) Midyett; his brother, Cletus Midyett; and three sisters, Valda Bassford, Reggie Harvison and Raba Hammer.
