Charles Ray Castellaw, 85, of Springville, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Veteran’s Hospital in Nashville. Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Murphy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sharon. Reggie Castellaw, R. D. Robinson, Joe Brasher, Jerry Brigance, David Blackburn and Clarence Matthews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Mark Castellaw, Jeffrey Castellaw, Billy Castellaw, John Armstrong and Jim Morris. Castellaw was born May 28, 1923, in Haywood County, son of the late Robert Jefferson and May Rassmann Castellaw. He was the widower of Sarah Stoker Castellaw, a World War II veteran, taught agriculture at Sharon and Westview High schools and at retirement was director of Vocational Education for Weakley County schools. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Matthews Castellaw of Springville; one son, Charles Robert Castellaw of Memphis; and one sister, Zuline Blackburn of Bells. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael Ray Castellaw and John Neal Castellaw; and one brother, Carl Jefferson Castellaw. Web site: murphyfuneralhome.net
