Vol aides to get hike

KNOXVILLE (AP) — Tennessee’s assistant football coaches will get a collective $215,000 boost in pay this season.
Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton announced the pay raises on Wednesday along with a new contract for coach Phillip Fulmer, worth an average of nearly $3 million annually through 2014.
Defensive coordinator John Chavis will get a $15,000 increase to $340,000.
New offensive coordinator Dave Clawson will also make $340,000, the same amount as his predecessor, David Cutcliffe.
Offensive line coach Greg Adkins and defensive ends coach Steve Caldwell will each make $200,000 this season.
Defensive line coach Dan Brooks will earn $190,000 and secondary coach Larry Slade will make $175,000.
Two new coaches, running backs coach Stan Drayton and tight ends coach Jason Michael, will each earn $170,000, and new wide receivers coach Latrell Scott will make $150,000.
