Budget meeting set

The Messenger. 07.03.08 The Obion County Budget Committee will meet 9 a.m. Monday in the basement conference room at the Obion County Courthouse. Items on the agenda include approval of the minutes of the budget hearings from June 10 and June 25; information on the cost of liability insurance coverage for the Fair Association; information for the fiscal year 2008-09 budget document for the Central Cafeteria Fund at Obion County Central High School; revised information for FY 2008-09 budget document for the General Purpose School Fund; information and a recommendation concerning a boat ramp owned by Obion County in the City of Samburg; a resolution authorizing the submission of a Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $300,000 for Health Department renovations; recommendation for approval of the budget for the Indigent Care Trust Fund; resolutions authorizing an application for a Law Enforcement Equipment Grant, for the submission of an application for Tennessee Industrial Infrastructure Funds in the amount of $750,000 to implement improvements for Williams Sausage Co., to affirm compliance with Federal Title VI regulations and to adopt the Strategic Economic Development Plan; consideration of an extension of a CATV franchise with New Wave Communications; and an appointment to fill a vacancy on the Reelfoot Regional Library Board (library requests the appointment of Ellarine Moses to replace Nina Pierce). Board and committee appointments include: • Beer Committee — now serving are Jimmy Seals, Perry Barfield and Kenneth Cheatham; • Board of Hospital Governors — to fill a seat formerly held by the late Tom Wade; • Reelfoot Lake Tourist Council — now serving is Tim Bunch. The committee will also entertain Notary Public applications. All members are urged to attend, a spokesman said. The session is open to the public.
