The Messenger. 07.01.08 The Ken-Tenn Humane Society is now housing Union City’s animals, according to a spokesman for the group. “We need your help. The next membership meeting will be July 8 at 5:30 p.m. at Penny Hill restaurant on East Jackson Street in Union City. The meeting will begin around 6:15, after we have ordered meals and visited,” a spokesman said. “Please join us if you are interested in providing safe, humane housing and care for animals from your city. It you cannot attend the meeting and would like to join the humane society, call (270) 627-2726. For a membership application, send a request to loisbirk@newwavecomm.net.” Residents who have pens, dog houses or any animal products are asked to call 446-2441 to donate these items. The group has also set up an account at First State Bank to accept monetary donations for their work. The Humane Society is a charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible, according to the spokesman.
