The Messenger. 07.01.08 Mattie Lue Leggett, 91, of Dyersburg, mother of the Rev. Jerry Leggett of Union City, died June 30, 2008, at Dyersburg Manor. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home, with her son officiating. Burial will follow in Tiptonville City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 5:30-8 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Tommy Leggett, Tracy Leggett, Randy Williams, Don Westfall, Randy Council and Jason Wilson. She was born Feb. 22, 1917, in Sweetwater, daughter of the late Dennis and Addie (Williams) Warren. She was the widow of Thomas Woodrow Leggett and had been employed as a cafeteria worker in the Lake County School System. She was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church. Survivors also include another son and two daughters-in-law, Danny and Eva Leggett of Dyersburg and Brenda Leggett of Union City; three grandchildren and their spouses, Tracy and Melissa Leggett of Union City and Tommy and Cathy Leggett and Melonie and Randy Williams, all of Memphis; and four great-grandchildren, Bayle Leggett, Alex Leggett, Shelby Williams and Hannah Williams. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jackie Joe Leggett; four brothers, Willie D. Warren, Don Warren, Riley Warren and Marcus Warren; two sisters, Julie Staggs and Mary Sue Cooper; and her great-grandson, Nickolas Leggett.
