The Messenger. 07.01.08 Albert Lea Garth, 92, of Signal Mountain died June 30, 2008, in Tennessee. He was a former resident of this area and is survived by three nieces and two nephews, some of whom live in this area. They include Mary Lynn Reithel, Nancy Baldridge and Marty Corum, all of Union City. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with Dr. Marshall St. John officiating. Friends may call at Lane Funeral Home’s Coulter Chapel at 601 Ashland Terrace in Chattanooga from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests that memorials be made to Wayside Presbyterian Church POA. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was a graduate of Tennessee Temple College. He received his master’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta and was a math and Bible teacher. He had also been a coach at McCallie School in Chattanooga. He was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church POA in Chattanooga. Survivors also include another niece, Margaret Ann Pope of Smyrna; another nephew, Robert Corum of Manhatten, Kan.; and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews, including Becky Reviere. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lea and Margaret Garth; his wife, Ann Garth, who died March 14, 2005; and his brother, R. Campbell Garth.
