Rainey announces candidacy for OC school board
Brian Rainey has announced he is seeking election to the Obion County School Board to represent District 5. Rainey was born and raised in Obion County and attended the former Hornbeak Elementary School. He graduated from Obion County Central High School, where he was an active member of FFA and served as president of the chapter. He graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel College. After marrying his wife, Cynthia, and working at Nixon Detroi Diesel for a year, Rainey returned home to Cloverdale in rural Obion County to help run the family business, Rainey Farms, with his father, Jimmy Rainey. He is still an avid supporter of the OCCHS FFA Alumni Chapter. Rainey said he is personally familiar with District 5 since he has two daughters who have excelled in the Obion County School System. His oldest daughter, Brandy, now attends the University of Tennessee at Martin and his youngest daughter, Lindsey, will be a senior at OCCHS. Rainey’s wife of 25 years has taught 12 years in the Obion County School System in the Special Education Department. “Now that you know a little about me, I would appreciate your vote and be proud to serve as your school board member for District 5,” Rainey said.
