The Messenger. 06.30.08 A “Meet the Candidates” forum has been set for 1 p.m. July 12 at Buford Ellington Assembly Hall in Tiptonville, located at the Reelfoot Lake Visitors Center across Highway 21 from Boyette’s Dining Room. The event is being hosted by Patriots for America, a non-partisan, grassroots organization concerned with bringing back constitutional government at all levels. The public will be able to pose questions to the panel of five candidates seeking the office of District 77 Tennessee state representative — the office currently held by Rep. Philip Pinion, who has decided not to seek re-election. “This will be a wonderful opportunity for the voters to find out how the candidates stand on issues concerning District 77 and the State of Tennessee, as well as the candidates finding out what issues the voters are concerned with,” a spokesman said. “Two of these candidates will win their party’s primary on Aug. 7 and one of them will become our next state representative in the fall election.” Organizers say there will be ample parking provided, but voters are urged to arrive early because seating may be limited.
