1-vehicle accident claims Hickman man, teenager

A Hickman, Ky., man and teenage girl died early Friday when their vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree in rural Fulton County, Ky. Willie Hagler, 28, and Jalissa N. Kinney, 17, both of Hickman, were pronounced dead at the scene of a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 3:30 a.m. on Kentucky 125 at Kentucky 166, according to the Kentucky State Police. Hagler was southbound on Kentucky 125 in a 1993 GMC Yukon when he crossed into the northbound lane, striking a sign post. He then crossed back over into the southbound lane, where he ran off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle overturned onto its side and struck a tree, the KSP reported. Hagler and Ms. Kinney were pronounced dead at the scene by Fulton County coroner Matt Moss. Neither of them was wearing a seat belt, according to the KSP. The accident remains under investigation by KSP Trooper Jason Clark. The KSP was also assisted at the scene by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and Fulton County emergency medical services and rescue personnel. Published in The Messenger 6.30.08
