Wreck claims UC teen’s life

A Union City youth who was ejected from a vehicle in which he was riding Tuesday has died. The Kentucky State Police confirmed late Thursday that Kendall Wilson, 15, died from the injuries he sustained in the accident. The driver, Thomas Sims, 22, of Clinton, Ky., told Trooper Michael Cook that he fell asleep while traveling northbound on Kentucky 239 in Hickman County, one mile north of Moscow. His 2001 Chevrolet ran off the left portion of the roadway, struck several trees and rolled multiple times before coming to a final rest. Both Wilson and Sims were taken to Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton, before Wilson was taken by Air Evac to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Wilson died at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday at Vanderbilt. His funeral services are set for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Green Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton, Ky. Brown Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
