WHITSON PERFORMS — Steven Whitson of Trimble is performing as one of the co-hosts at Tennessee Shindig in Pigeon Forge. The West Tennessee Idol has been singing since he was 3 years old, performing in church and throughout his community and in parts of Australia, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Montana, and even Scotland. One of his latest performances locally was at the Obion County Fairgrounds in 2007 when he opened for Craig Morgan. He has also opened for such entertainers as John Michael Montgomery, John Conlee, Gary Allen, Rascal Flatts, Marty Stuart, Brad Cotter, Billy Currington, Buddy Jewell, Joe Nichols, Trick Pony and Thea and Aaron Tippin. He earned an associate’s degree from Dyersburg State Community College in music in 2003 and graduated in 2005 from Lambuth University in Jackson with a bachelor’s degree in church music.
