The Messenger. 06.24.08 Sharon Ann “Sherry” (Colwick) Yoes, 60, of Union City died June 23, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Judd Mowery officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bible Hill Cemetery near Parsons. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Charles Morris, Neil Dodson, James Faulkner, Bill Wilder, Tommy Carpenter, David Roberson and Lonnie Grady. The family requests that memorials be made to the Hillcrest or Lake Road school libraries or the children’s section of the Obion County Public Library in Union City. She was born July 16, 1947, in Jackson, daughter of Orphia Eileen (Burton) Colwick of Parsons and the late J.T. Colwick. She married James “Ronny” Yoes Sept. 2, 1966. He survives. She was a teacher in the Obion County School System for 35 years and was a member of Troy United Methodist Church. Survivors also include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jake and Leah Yoes of Memphis and Joe and Melanie Yoes of Nashville; her sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Jeff Laster of Hebron, Ky.; her niece, Jill Laster of Hebron; and her nephew, Jonathan Laster of Hebron.
