Miss Roney, Hill to wed

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Katherine Jane “Katie” Roney and Eric Chesley Hill, both of Franklin, are being announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of Randy and Lisa Roney and Tripp and Kallye Young, all of Union City. Her grandparents are Ray and Edna Roney and Harold and Bettye Jenkins, all of Union City. She is a 2000 graduate of Obion County Central High School and a 2003 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she studied English and political science. She earned her master of arts degree in teaching secondary education in 2005 from Belmont University in Nashville and a master of science in educational administration in 2007 from UTM. She is a ninth-grade English teacher at Page High School in Franklin. The groom-elect is the son of Dr. Paul and Cathy Hill of Troy and William and Billie Rozell of Nashville. His grandparents are Betty Hill and the late Dr. Chesley H. Hill of Troy, the late Robert E. Payne of Pelham and Mrs. Jasper (Betty) Acuff of Nashville. He is a 1998 graduate of OCCHS and received a business administration degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville in 2002. In 2005, he earned his registered nurse’s degree from Belmont University. He is a nurse in the trauma unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He plans to begin studies at Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia in July. The couple will wed at 7 p.m. July 12 at the home of Randy and Lisa Roney, located at 4350 North Newman Glover Road, Union City. Music will begin at 6:30. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place at Exchange Street Church of Christ in Union City. A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony at the Roneys’ home.
