The Messenger. 06.25.08 A Union City youth has been transported to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville after a traffic accident in Hickman County, Ky. Kendall Wilson, 15, was ejected from the vehicle in which he was riding Tuesday about 12:56 p.m. after the driver, Thomas Sims, 22, of Clinton, Ky., fell asleep and drove off the roadway, according to a report from the Kentucky State Police. Sims was reportedly traveling northbound on Kentucky 239 one miles north of Moscow, Ky., in Hickman County when he fell asleep and ran off the left portion of the roadway and struck several trees. The vehicle rolled multiple times before coming to a final rest. Wilson, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected during the accident. Both Wilson and Sims were taken to Parkway Regional Hospital, before Wilson was taken by Air Evac to Vanderbilt. Kentucky State Police was assisted on the scene by Hickman County Fire and Rescue, Clinton-Hickman Emergency Medical Services, Clinton Police Department and Hickman County Sheriff’s Department. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Michael Cook.
