TWRA urges registration of Reelfoot Lake duck blinds

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is reminding the public that all permanently registered duck blinds on Reelfoot Lake Wildlife Management Area must be registered by July 31. In order to annually register a permanent blind site, an individual must purchase a Reelfoot waterfowl blind permit. The permit may be purchased at any TWRA licensed agent. TWRA officer Jeff Martin of the Reelfoot WMA office said the registrant must appear in person and present the license agent his TWRA identification number and proof of identification before purchasing the blind permit. “If the blind site holder cannot appear in person, he or she may designate an agent to register the blind site,” Martin said. “The designated agent must present an affidavit provided by TWRA with notarized signature of the registrant which states that he or she wishes to register the blind site for the year.” Failure to annually register a permanently registered blind site by July 31 may result in termination of its status as a permanent registered blind site, after which it may be designated as a permanent draw blind site. For more information, call the Reelfoot WMA office at (731) 253-7343 or TWRA Region I office at (731) 423-5725. Published in The Messenger 6.24.08
