Miss Tibbs, Butts to wed

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Carla Jo Tibbs to James Christopher “Chris” Butts is being announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of Carl and Teresa Tibbs of Troy. She is the granddaughter of the late Wayne and Wanda Tibbs of Pacific, Mo., and Joe and Ann McEwen of Troy. She is a 2005 graduate of Obion County Central High School. She attended Bethel College and the University of Tennessee at Martin and earned certification as a certified pharmacy technician. She is employed as a pre-1st grade summer camp teacher at Kare Bear Preschool in Union City. The groom-elect is the son of Jeff and Jennifer Washburn of Dresden and the late Jim Butts of Jackson. He is the grandson of James and Betty Butts and Terry and Faye Brewer, all of Dresden. He is a 1999 graduate of Dresden High School. He is a 2002 graduate of Tennessee Technology Center at McKenzie with a diploma in architectural drafting and design and certification in mechanical drafting and design. He is employed as a CAD technician/designer at Phillips Engineering Inc. in Union City. The couple will wed at 6 p.m. July 19 at Mount Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Troy. Music will begin at 5:30. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. All family and friends are invited to attend. After a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple will reside in Dresden.
