Ralph LaSalle Cultra, 82, of Union City died June 13, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Services were held today at 10 a.m. at White-Ranson Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred Thomas officiated and burial followed in East View Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tommy Cultra, Austin Cultra, Allen Byassee, Greg Dunn, James Crutcher and Jerry Paschall. Honorary pallbearers were members of Rives Union Church. He was born June 29, 1925, in Union City, son of the late Edwin Spencer Cultra and Iris (Johnson) Cultra. He married the former Mary Frances Hayes on June 1, 1946, and she preceded him in death April 15, 1993. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a retired manager of operations for the former Morning Star Nursery at Rives and was a member of Rives Union Church. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Belinda Cultra of Union City, Randall and Joy Cultra of Bowling Green, Ky., and Thomas Daniel and Debra Cultra of Rocksboro, N.C.; four grandchildren, Tommy Cultra of Clarksville, Michelle Cultra of Union City and Angela Cultra and Austin Cultra, both of Bowling Green; and a sister, Iris Isenberg of Melbourne, Fla. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Sayre Cultra, Robert Cultra, George Cultra and Archie Cultra. Condolences may be sent to the family at the funeral home Web site: www.white-ranson.com.
